The Brynawel Residential Therapy Programme

The Brynawel Therapy Programme is based on a cognitive
behavioural model, with one to one counseling & group work.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that
is based on the idea that our thoughts are what cause our feelings
and behaviors. The benefit of this is that we can change or influence
the way we think to feel or act better even if the situation around us
does not change.

We understand that each persons needs are different, so alongside
the main structured group work and lectures, everybody has an
individual treatment plan overseen by therapeutic case managers.

The Brynawel programme encourage clients to live and work with
others as part of their therapy process. During your stay you may
be allocated specific tasks or written assignments. Residential
clients will also be assigned cleaning duties to encourage
teamwork and sharing with others.

Towards the end of rehabilitation clients will be progressively
introduced, initally with supervised support, to social situations as
part of learning enactment and relapse prevention planning.
